Onboarding Requirements for EOR Employees in Chile

Globalli ensures that mandatory registrations are completed before payroll processing.This article outlines the required onboarding documents and registrations in Chile and explains their purpose.

1. Employment Contract

Requirement:
Globalli must provide employees with a written employment contract outlining the terms and conditions of employment in accordance with Chilean labor regulations.

Must Include:

  • Job title and responsibilities

  • Salary and payment terms

  • Working hours

  • Employment start date

  • Workplace location

  • Contract duration (if fixed-term)

  • Probation period (if applicable)

Purpose:

  • Establishes the legal employment relationship between the employee and Globalli

  • Defines the rights and obligations of both parties

  • Ensures compliance with the Chilean Labour Code

2. ID or Passport and Visa (if applicable)

Requirement:
Employees must provide valid identification and proof of their legal right to work in Chile.

Accepted Documents:

  • Chilean national ID card

  • Passport

  • Valid visa or work permit (for foreign employees, if applicable)

Purpose:

  • Confirms the employee’s identity

  • Verifies legal authorization to work in Chile

  • Ensures compliance with immigration and employment regulations

3. Bank Account Details

Requirement:
Employees must provide bank account details for payroll processing.

Details Required:

  • Account holder name

  • Bank name

  • Account number

Purpose:

  • Enables salary payments via bank transfer

  • Ensures accurate payroll processing

  • Allows reimbursement of work-related expenses

4. Tax Identification Number (RUT)

Requirement:
Employees must provide their RUT (Rol Único Tributario), the Chilean tax identification number.

Details:

  • Issued by the Chilean tax authority

  • Required for employment and financial transactions

Purpose:

  • Enables correct calculation and reporting of income tax

  • Required for payroll processing and tax filings

  • Ensures compliance with tax regulations administered by the Servicio de Impuestos Internos (Chile)
